Delhi

Delhi is the Capital of India in many ways and for many reasons.

Lets look at history first. Delhi has been the capital of India for over 2000 years or may be more. Delhi is the Indraprasth, the capital of Pandavas as mentioned in the Mahabharata. Many dynasties have ruled India with Delhi as the capital. Don’t believe me.  Go see the Purana Kila, Qutub Minar, Red Fort and India Gate. All these stand testimonies for the rich and royal history of India.  Delhi is also the infrastructure capital of India. The roads, the bridges, Delhi Airport and now the Metro is best in India.

Delhi has tremendous power, in its Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, Sansad Marg and the power circles of Connaught Place.

Delhi is the shopping capital of India. The whole country shops from here. The oldest whole sale market of India is Chandani Chowk and for centuries it has managed to maintain its charm and trade. Janpath, Palika Bazaar, Karol Bagh, Paharganj, Sarojini Nagar, Khan Market, Lajpat Nagar, Chawri Bazaar, Sabzi Mandi, Sadar Bazaar and the latest is Delhi Haat. All these offer great and unique shopping experiences.

Garden of Five Senses and Lodi Gardens are most popular gardens of Delhi.

Delhi is also the eating capital of India. Foodie come here for samose, kachodi, jalebi, gajar ka halwa, chole bhature and rajma rice. And if you are a non vegetarian, don’t miss the tikke, kabab and biryani of Delhi.
